ServSafe Food Safety Manager Courses & Exams

The ServSafe Manager Certification verifies that a manager or person-in-charge has sufficient food safety knowledge to protect the public from foodborne illness. Individuals that successfully pass the 90-question, multiple-choice exam will receive a ServSafe Manager Certification. The ServSafe Manager Certification is accredited by the American National Standards Institute (ANSI) under the Conference for Food Protection Standards.

Classes run from 9am to 4pm with a 30 minute break for lunch. The exam will begin at approximately 2:00. Students may bring drinks and snacks to class. The class covers a lot of food safety principles in a short amount of time. Prior to the class, it is essential to read the book and to study using the book and additional materials we provide.

The $175 fee includes the ServSafe Manager Book 7th Edition, Full Day Course, and Exam.

ServSafe Exam Proctor

If you have only need to take the exam, we can proctor your exam for $50. The ServSafe online exam code is an additional $38 unless previously purchased. Exam scheduling is flexible. Contact to schedule your exam.

Launching Diverse Food Entrepreneurs

This is an opportunity to start your own food business!

The Worcester Regional Food Hub, EforAll, and the Worcester Regional Chamber of Commerce are now recruiting class members for a multi-week course called Launching Diverse Food Entrepreneurs in Worcester.

Participants completing the program will have a licensed food business through the Food Hub.


This is a completely FREE program funded by Massachusetts Growth Capital Corporation.

The program includes:
● Business planning
● Basic accounting
● Culinary & Kitchen Equipment skills
● ServSafe Manager and Allergen Awareness certifications
● A Worcester or Fitchburg business license
● A Worcester or Fitchburg food establishment permit
● Food liability insurance
● Social media presence
● Access to markets
● Free membership and time in the Worcester Regional Food Hub or Fitchburg Public Market Kitchen
● Free membership with the Worcester Regional Chamber of Commerce
● Opportunity to apply to EforAll Business Accelerator – free of charge

This program aims to work with new food entrepreneurs from traditionally under-represented groups including veterans, women, minorities, and immigrants and refugees.

Classes will be held on Tuesdays, 6-8pm, from March 5 to April 30 (There will be no class April 16 for school vacation week) on the Clark University Campus.



Choke Safe Classes

Classes run about 30 minutes depending on class size.

Completion of class will satisfy Worcester Board of Health requirements , and students will receive a certificate good for 2 years in Worcester.

Group classes are available. For groups of 5 or more students we can come to you (Worcester only).

Choke Safe Monthly Class is also available before ServSafe in Worcester at 8:30 am.

Prepare for Your Wholesale Permit

In Massachusetts, a wholesale license issued by the Massachusetts Department of Public Health’s Food Protection Program is required for producing most types of food that is sold to other businesses. This program will prepare your business for the regulatory requirements and initial inspection in order to receive your wholesale permit. Email for more information.
